So what excatly does a 7200RPM drive do better than a 5400RPM drive. I assume that i reads data faster, if so does it really make a significant diffrence? And if you had to choose a 120GB 5400RPM drive or a 80GB 7200RPM drive, witch one would you choose? Thanks in advance for any answers.

7200RPM is a bit faster, but from what I heard it also has better reliability. Albeit, that might not be entirely true. I'd personally go for a 7200RPM one, it should serve you well.

Different speeds for different needs
A large but slow drive is great for huge ammounts of warez
While a Smaller but faster drive is great for the OS and applications
Of coarse a large and fast drive is good for everything... but costs more, so be smart and pick the drive for its purpose... and save $$$!

I found system responsiveness noticeably better after switching. Battery life doesn't seem any worse either (my higher RPM microdrives, on the other hand, are noticeably more power hungry than my slower ones). I think I saw a review mentioning that was due to the smaller heads in the fast laptop drives or something.
