Is it possible to sli a 7800 and a 6800, in other words two cards of different model?

Yes (as in yes, it's a no). They have to be the same model.

actuall ihave none of that stuff i have a 9600 which is killing me in bf2 so i'm looking into what to get so my framerate isnt averaging 20 fps.

nVidia GeForce 6600 GT is the hot spot in price/performanece.
