Upgrading video card

Name: Anonymous 2005-12-02 0:17

My video card is over 4 years old so I'm planning on buying a new video card. What's the cheapest price for a video card that is capable of playing F.E.A.R.? Can anyone tell me what kind of specs I should be looking for? Thanks.

Minimum specs are on the F.E.A.R. website. Try to get those at least. :P

I'd say, you could get a decent card for about $50 because of the holidays. My old set can play F.E.A.R. with an ATI 9200 SE.

For a mid-range card, treat yourself to a 9800 PRO if it falls in your price range.  If not, a 9600 XT or PRO should be good enough as well.

You still want an nVidia GeForce 6600 GT.

Yeah, I knew there were the specs on F.E.A.R.'s website but I feared with only the minimum specs, it'd take the fun out of the game. I have everything else up to date except for the video card.

Thanks you guys.

6800GS = cheap and good

BTW, I don't know if that's the same as the standard 6800 on AGP, some benchmark I saw showed the original 6800 had notably better performance
