CD-RW problems

Recently, my CD-RW has stopped recognising cd's of all forms. It's a generic Sony CD-RW compliments of Dell.
Additionally, my IMAPI service won't run manually or automatically. I'll set it to start, then when I recheck the service page, it will have been stopped.

Before this happened, it would recognise discs only occasionally.
Any help?
