graphire 4 or intuos 3

Name: Anonymous 2005-11-24 22:44

Hay guys, For two years I have been using my graphire 3(4x5) for my CG illustrations, for work or just for personal content. The problem now is, its pretty worn out, the pen's nib is really worn out (flat to almost a half), and the overlay sheet has some minor scratches--its not really that rough yet.

Now, I opt to buy a new one, and seeing the prices for Intuos 4x5 and Graphire 6x8. Should I go for an Intuos 3 with that smaller pen area but with 1024 pressure sensitivity and better lpi or go for the bigger pen area that the Graphire 4 6x8 has.

Which tablet do you think might make a drastic change on one's artwork? Will a bigger pen size help? Pressure sensitivity, lpi?

*I cant afford the 6x8 intuos.. Im stuck with $200.

Help please.

Go for the bigger area.

Better sensitivity and lpi is only useful if you're some kind of superhuman artist. If you have to ask this question, you're obviously not.

6x8 is the right size, any bigger than that and you will be wasteing money and never actulay use the full tablet. The pressure stuff is almost useless too at higher levels, a normal person wont be able to tell the diff between 1024 and 512 pressure levels.
