Hyper Threading Question

Name: Anonymous 2005-11-22 6:48

According to Intel's Hyper-Threading Test Utility my processor and bios are both compatible but my chipset is not, yet the user guide that came with my mobo (Asus P5S800-VM SIS 661FX North and SIS 964 South) states "Supports Intel Hyper-Threading Technology."

Device manager shows two of the same processor listed under processors.

Is this normal and there is a glitch with the intel utility?

SiS for the fail

Probably Intel's utility at fault. If your device manager is showing two processors, and task manager shows two processor load graphs, then hyperthreading is working. Believe the evidence of your system, not some test tool.
