Quick DVD Burner Question

Name: a non ee mus 2005-11-09 21:47

I have a fairly simple question about dvd burners, but with a mac twist. I'm considering getting this burner:

but since I'm running on an older Apple G4 (533 Dual Processor "Digital Audio" to be precise), I'm wondering if the G4s Superdrive brackets will accomidate the burner without any need to jerry0rig it. Currently I have an old Pioneer DVR-104, and while the dimensions between that and the LiteOn I want are similar, they vary in some dimensions. I'm wondering if the size difference will mean the screwholes in the bracket and drive won't synch up. I know it's possible to upgrade burners on G4s, but size restraints is something I'm curious over. Thanks for any help.

tl;dr:

will this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827106988

fit in this: http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/powermac_g4/stats/powermac_g4_533.html

without jerryrigging the drivebrackets? lolz thx

Who knows lol.
Probably not, seeing its a MAC and impossibble to upgrade

Apple products are perfectly capable of being upgraded, it's just that theres not as many third-party companies who cater to them as Windows. It is indeed possible to upgrade the burner (amongst other bit of hardware), as a matter of fact I'm 100% sure of that. My question was just about size restraints and stability of the drive in the Superdrives brackets.
