To be blunt, my GPU has an idle temperature of 61C with ambient temperature at 47C at idle.
I use stock cooling, I have good airflow, NO overclocking whatsoever, and have a Leadtek A400 GT (AGP 6800 GT), with a P4 3.0GHz w/ HT processor.
Any suggestions as to what I can do at the moment? (Besides, of course, getting extra cooling) It's really pissing me off.

Get extra cooling. The fansinks that come with retail boxes procs are shit, as are most of the cheapo third party fansinks, and the Prescott P4s are tiny little hotplates. Zalman Flower heatsink for the win.

I have one also, the 6800 gt runs hot. 61c isn't uncommon or unusual. Changing the heat sink on a gpu is a pain in the ass so I'd just leave it.
If you can lower the ambient temperature by a little or put one of those PCI fan slots next to the video card it'll lower your temperatures a little bit, too. Personally, I can't bring myself to use something so horribly inefficint (plugging a fan into a pci slot is like using the cd tray for a cupholder. Yeah, it works, but it was clearly intended for a much more intelligent purpose).
Check to see if your processor is a Prescott or a Northwood. If it's a Prescott, make sure your airflow is good and you're not blowing any of that shit processor's nuclear radiation onto your gpu.
