Help Whit Sony Vaio PCG-FX109K

Hello, i Have this litle Problem, a Friend of mine asked me to repair his laptop, and i cant do it :( Coz it shuts down after a min or so, and wont turn back on for and hour or so
i have tried looking for something in google but cant find anything
i have tried Booting the Bios and all the stuff i can think off( like Runing it whitout the Battery, only whit the power suply)
and jeah .. you dont have to go to Windows for it to shut down, it will shut down from Bios to :(
and its kind of old, so he dosent want to waist money to get it fixed, any Help? :)

I bet it's a heat issue.  If the CPU fan dies, the CPU heats up, the thermal protection kicks in, and the laptop shuts down.  That's the usual suspect for this kind of thing.
