What's so fun about Linux users is their lack of knowledge of Win32 and Windows 2000. They keep trolling against MS-DOS 3.22 and Windows 3.11, which is easier and makes Linux look so good.
Windows NT and related operating systems do have that. DEL /S /Q will work, and you have at least one, probably several native RM implementations if you want. I have mine. You also have Cygwin's RM port, which as of late merges all volumes in a virtual / directory (which you can also get done in other ways).
