I made the fatal mistake of getting a wireless mouse and I was wondering if there was any way to install a usb wire or something so I dont need batteries anymore.
I want to keep the mouse, but the battery issue is getting out of hand.

It would be easier to install an on-off switch instead, so you can switch the thing off when it's not in use (assuming it's one of those ones that quietly pulse away all the time and guzzling battery power to do so). Seriously, it wouldn't be worth the effort of finding out how to install a cable since the mouse is most likely not designed to accomodate one. Buying a budget corded optical mouse will be less effort.

how long do the batteries last? if you mean they last about a week, thats normal for a shitty one
if you mean 2 days, then you might have an issue.
and no, you cant mod a cable into a wireless mouse, without some serious hacking

Buy rechargeable batteries, if you get a couple of sets you can use the mouse while others are recharging.
Cons: costs more than buying a new mouse
pros: you'll have batteries for other crap.

I see what you did there... That's why wireless keyboard and mice are not worth the hassle - much less the price. And it's not like you're left without wires anyways, and you even have extra junk.
