inbox dissapeared

Outlook has suddenly decided it doesn't like my inbox.dbx file and has stopped showing all the messages in it. I've tried copying it to a different folder and importing it but it still doesn't like it. I've tried using a shareware email recovery program (which naturally has the recovery option disabled) and the emails are still there, it's just outlook is throwing a hissy fit.

Any ideas or suggestions for a free piece of software that'll let me look at these messages?

How can you be using Outlook... Switch over to Mozilla Mail or Thunderbird. It's not a matter of features, stability, or interface - it's a matter of keeping your computer functional and free of malware.
