A Bit About Torrents?

Some questions.  I know next to nothing about all this but I've offered to find some answers for some digitally challenged folks.

1.  One uses Limewire.  What's better?
2.  Are there any P2P schemes/software that more resistant to malware/Viri?
3.  How does one limit the amount of bandwith so that it does not take over the entire "pipe"?

1. I just use BitTorrent and I'm satisfied with it. It's fast when everyone share.
2. No, get an anti-virus when you download .exe files.
3. Most programs have a special setting to limit the upload. I usually limit to 10KBps for my torrents. When it's lower the seeds don't send enough to me because I don't share enough.
