Is it me, or does the animation style reek of Marathon studios (They're the frenchies who do Totally Spies and Martin Mystery)?
Is it cheaper there or something? Whatever happened to just shipping it out to Korea?

show looks very pretty from that promo, but i dunno, the boondocks has always been trying way too hard to be EDGY, and I think the ad really shoves that flaw out there.

I get it, I get it. No need to lay it on so heavy. I remember when the comic first came around, there were, you know, stories in between the author stand-in stating his political views. Now it's the left's Mallard Fillmore (though admittedly it isn't anywhere near as horrible as that comic).

Actually, the show was quite different from the comic, and I found it to be lolmax

His views may not be perfect, but hey, I've yet to agree with most fictional characters about their fictional political views.

The cartoon's okay. It's mostly a "Political and Social Commentary" cartoon. It's totally alien to [AS]'s average 14 year old fanbase there for the fart jokes and anime. Of course, the other show that more or less is the opposite side of the same coin for it is 12 Oz. Mouse. That's just a show I really can't even begin to grasp. But then again, it's probably a test to see how cheap they can get in animation and still make a profit with the division of Cartoon Network.

that show rocks. i just had a conversation about this with an animation major. the animation is kinda crappy, but compared to all the other adult swim shows its top notch. the style is heavily anime infulenced because arron magruder is just that. the syndicated comic was a lot more polotical but this show only has about 4 episodes out so far so it coul turn around from being almost exclusivley about race. if youve noticed he also goes after black people for their various stupid things, like the r kelly episode and the newest one focusing on the "nigger moment". hes stuck inbetween as a black guy its the status quo for him to hate white guys (we did some crappy shit to them) but as an intellegent person he cant help but see black guys doing some pretty mindbendingly stupid shit, its a mature position on race relations i can agree with.  >>18 annoys the crap outta me, for various reasons, mostly based on over generilizations about the [as] audience.

This show is made of asswhup and awesome for one reason: Samual L. "Snakes on a muthafuckin' plane!" Jackson voicing a crazy ass white boy with an assault rifle, making Pulp Fiction references.

I would have to say my only annoyance with the show is that fact that the creator of Boondocks writes an avatar of himself into the series that supposedly knows everything and is never wrong on any political position.  It's basically being arrogant and whiny all at once.  The creator would be better off just jumping up and down and in a whiny voice crying out, "I'm right and you're wrong!  I'm right and you're wrong!  I'm right and you're wrong!"  To further this end, the creator portrays everyone else in the series to stereotypical extremes or portrays them as being idiots to further try and make his personal avatar shine as being correct.  In effect, this means the creator is stating, "Anyone who doesn't agree with me is a racist or an idiot!"  More whining, more arrogance...  I've tried watching this show, but I can't manage before rolling my eyes from frustration of having childish mannerisms throw at me repeatedly.

huey used to be flawed in tbe early comics, but post 9/11 he was rapidly transformed into an omniscient soapbox. i'm not seeing it so much in the cartoon, though. he's certainly arrogant, but i don't think that's always portrayed as being justified. I think he's a bit more sypathetic to the supporting cast than you're giving him credit for, too. i DO, however, absolutely see the kids as mouthpieces who speak way too old for their age; probably the biggest problem with the believability of the whole thing. shit still makes me laugh, though.

No problem. Some of the episodes were just ok. I am not gonna lie, but hey if you didn't find yourself laughing hard at one time or another, it probably just isn't your thing. I mean like I love family guy and south park and all that jazz, but, they way they tackle their humor is different, I found myself laughing a lot, but not on end during those shows. But thats my opinion. Everyone is entitled to opinions.

And for those who say the animation sux, what bad drugs are you on. Honestly. For a tv series the art is of very descent anime standards. And no it aint the guys who did totally spys, its actually the guys who did work on samurai champloo.

I think that the whole style of the show is to make you think about the way some blacks are propegating black stereotypes and then complaining thatthey are being treated the way they act. The fact that you are how you act and people seee that.  It is an intllectual show while coating it with a semi-sweet shell
