OP here. I'm writing this because I don't want people to think this question went unanswered, and this might help anyone who reads this forum with the same question that I had. I just finished the book, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was relatable and sort of inspirational. If anyone is thinking of reading this book, I definitely recommend it.

I read the book before I ever heard about the movie. The book was great. I was really disappointed by the movie.

If you liked the movie, you'll love the book.

I read the book then watched the movie. I prefer the movie, but the book was still great.

Read the book while I was a teenager, loved it.
It's short so you shouldn't regret it.
