OP, did you ever start a blog?

both blogs and diaries can be private/public.  the only difference is the medium and what you'd prefer.  i'd recommend looking at other diaries/blogs and seeing what you'd like to do.  if i hadn't done that, i would have never done journal comics.

Use paper, it's better.

If you really have something worth sharing, put it on the interwebs, but don't make one of those fancy blogs for pussies, just plain .txt files, like we had in the 90s.
