Doctor Who Ebooks

I'm new to Doctor Who and want to know the whole story beforehand, but apparently the BBC destroyed a large number of the old tapes, which is rather inconvenient. So I figured I would read the books instead. Does anyone have or know where I can find the books from the first eight or so doctors? Preferably in a format that can be shoved on a sony ereader.
