Way too long a list.  How about movies that were better than the book?

I nominate Apocalypse Now.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas the movie is almost word for word the book. I was actually sort of disappointed reading it because there wasn't anything really "new" in it.

I find it ironic that the Shining is actually a far better movie than the book is.

>>5 No, LOTR books are better than the movies, but you have to be a real hillbilly to get them.

Also, Let the Right One In is my favorite movie of all time but the book is just a Stephen King ripoff.

I Am Legend... because no one can apparently capture the spirit of the book.

"No John, you are the demons."

I liked The Postman movie more than the book.  Not that the book wasn't good.

Of Human Bondage and The Razor's Edge have both been made into movies repeatedly, but even Bill Murray couldn't bring the movie up to the level of the book.

To Kill a Mockingbird

Silence of the Lambs

I liked them both but the movie is epic and the book is just a good read.

Name: Anonymous 2010-01-15 16:37

2001 the movie is much better than 2001 the book.
