So I'm about 20 pages into this so far and it seems interesting right now. So I'm going to stick with it but I want to know what everyone elses opinion on it is.
I don't think _anyone_ that read the novel first, enjoyed the altered ending. Like >>13, the setting is refreshing and didn't detract much from the plot. Maybe the fact that it remained quite loyal to the overarching plot made me quite frustrated at the ending. I also had a gripe with that fight scene; that was some unnecessary mecha, as well as some unnecessary melodrama that followed.
