I use "I" like crazy when writing. It's fucking annoying.

Any suggestions on how to kill the habit?

Just drop it when you don't need it, if it fits the situation.

i.e.
"Went to down to the supermarket to day, saw some poor bastard all shot to hell behind the counter, so I went back to the dorm."
