Ignorance is nice. (spoilers are too,)

I like to pretend that in the end of The Amber Spyglass, when Lyra and what-his-face went through the portal each carrying each other's demons, that they like, became each others daemon and were forever inseparable just like they wanted to be instead of forever separated like they ended up.

Does anyone else do this; make up endings they'd prefer for books whose conclusions they didn't like so much?
