I came to the conclusion this guy knew what he was on about in "The Prince". Anyone else have any thoughts?

When people who live like that and do things like that finally face old age and coming death, they must be really fucking miserable indeed. "All I've got's a state full of people, every one of whom rightfully hates me because I was the biggest, most horrible faggot of their entire lives." Oh man, that must hurt. A life of intrigue and nerve-wrecking strife for crap nobody likes ain't really worth it, too, I guess.
