I just finished reading Dune and was wondering if the sequels are worth reading as well?

The Dune series is really good, but the original six by Frank Herbert excel.
The stuff by his son (Brian Herbert) is good as generic sci-fi, but he seems to leave out all of the depth that Frank was notorious for. So if you like the original Dune book, then give all of the rest a try - but don't judge the series by the newer books.
Although I liked Frank's work more than his son's, allegedly his son was writing from notes left by Frank. So if you want the whole story, go ahead and read the other books, but just pretend there were layers-within-layers of more content.
