Snow Crash

Just started reading snow crash, absolutely loving it. First time reading this sort of book (in fact I don't read too many books, maybe make for my stupid). Just wondering if you guys/girls had any suggestions for books to read after (of the same genre/style)

Thanks :)

lol wut? Not only is Atlas Shrugged nothing like Snow Crash, it's also a terrible book that's only read by libertarians looking for wank material.

Well, you could technically say that the balkanized America presented in Snow Crash is the kind of libertarian no-government, corporations-only society Randroids would actually like.

But that's about it, and Snow Crash is so much better than the piece of shit that is Atlas Shrugged that there's no point in even comparing the two.

You might like the Otherland books by Tad Williams. The first volume is City of Golden Shadow. It's not as good as the titles already mentioned, but it's interesting stuff. It's episodically told from the perspectives of different characters. Some of them are pretty interesting, but some are boring and you feel like you want to skip ahead. That's the main quibble most people have with this series.

Zodiac by Stephenson kicks ass, though it's not really cyberpunk like Snow Crash. It's about an environmentalist riding around Boston harbor in his rubber dinghy (hence zodiac, duh) fighting satanists etc, pretty hilarious.

Also check out Altered Carbon by Richard Morgan + sequels, though those sequels are not really cyberpunk any more either (but still great - his unrelated Black Man is good too if you can ignore/embrace the anti-American politics).

There is also The Android's Dream by John Scalzi, Jennifer Government by Max Barry and The Atrocity Archives by Charles Stross who has also written some post-cyberpunk which is supposedly good but I haven't read yet (Accelerando). I'd bet you'd like at least one of them - all are pretty funny, have nice action and imho somewhat related style, iirc.
