Self-absorbed author who writes sub-standard books and makes enough income to live off with them, who gets antsy when her fans try to use her LOL ORIGINAL CHARACTERS without her permission. I read the first HP book about 8 years ago and never saw what was great about it.

The guy does look a bit fruity, though.

For the fantasy genre? Maybe.

The entire series still lacks any real description or tangible character growth – it's just a bunch of random events happening in a vague plothole-filled world. All the characters, besides the protagonist, are mary sues/gary stues or two dimensional. Harry is just an impulsive vehicle that tries to keep the story moving with his inexplicable bouts of stupidity.

A children's story – everyone says.

I wouldn't let my children read it. It's pretty much a cartoon transcribed onto paper that attempts to have some sort of flimsy theme by occasionally mentioning death and family.
