I just read 1984

And I was thinking, this world is hella similar to the 4chan community.
There is a mass of anonymous everywhere unified by some kind of code, like repeating simple language such as MOAR PORN, etc.
I saw that phrase so many times, each time by a different guy.
In 4chan, newbies are prosecuted. if anyone stands out, in other words goes against the whole mass of anons' rule of acting and speaking, you have to GTFO NEWFAAG.
4chan is intolerant of individuals against the unified anon mass.
It feels great, once you're part of the great massive power that moves 4chan from behind. It gives you a sense of security and anonymous power, able to invade other countries (websites)and enjoying all that macho crap. However, this is like becoming mindless limbs of Big Brother, or Hitler, whatever.
We may get the most variety of fetishes and pron here, since this place is so free from morals and all those stuff cultured society holds back.
But 4chan is not like a democratic, or anarchistic community where individuals can say what they want blabla. It's more like a one-minded mass of power that is free from morals, dangerous if gone the wrong way.
You can see that in /b/, most of the time it's racism, sexism and all that emo crap out-spoken. One would wonder how people get this kind of concentrated, simple and irrational hate from.
It's so easy to create such a hostile community, and I think 4chan is such an interesting example how people enjoy being slaves of a great power.

I'm currently reading it for about the eleventh or twelfth time. It's quite enjoyable.

If you liked 1984, you should next try We or Brave New World.

Brave New World is brilliant for the dystopian ideas it presents, but the plot is utter crap for the most part. For a book about entertainment as slavery, it sure fails to hold your attention with...unless the lack of integrity in the "plot" was commentary in itself, which I sincerely doubt.

Also, OP isn't total fail. Yes, he's probably a newfag, but there's a lot of truth in pointing out the strange, distributed form of cultural totalitarianism we have on this site.
