The Wind-up Bird Chronicle

Is it just me, or is Haruki Murakami writing some strange, fucked up version of a harem anime in this book?

ive only read two books by murakami. norwegian wood and hard boiled wonderland and the end of the world. while he describes sexual situations in detail, they are part of the plot and not merely included for the sake of it. murakami is a fucking genius.
