I just bought this book. It's the first book in the Wheel of Time series, I tried to read these back in 8th grade, but they were too difficult and complicated for me.
So I'll try to reread them again now. Any tips?

The first ones are good, but they start getting really dull after, say, five or six books.
Not to mention he's dead and who knows how the last one will turn out to look.
I don't think there are any "tips" to be had. Try to enjoy them as much as you can?

Read them all as fast as you can, without reading other things in between. Thats the only way to avoid getting mired in one of the later ones. I read the first seven, then took a break to read through Harry Potter again when the last one came out. When I went back to book eight, I was like... 'wtf is this shit'. Then the last few were kinda tough to get through.
Why? The Creator took him into his palm, and now he can write forevermore in the Heavens.

God dammit.
He died?
For real?
Fucker.
Had he finished the series?

Yes. YARLY. No. Which doesn't mean that the ending HAS to suck (by WOT standards), see e.g. David Gemmells Troy trilogy which his wife completed after his death too and where you can't even tell who wrote what.
