I beg to differ. His plot is cribbed from a number of other sources, most gallingly the brilliant Foucault's Pendulum; his prose is sensationalist and is much more suitable for a screenplay than a book; his characters are flat and cliched, especially his female leads.
Also, his insistence that everything in all of his books is 100% true is just laughable.
If you said he was an entertaining author, I might be tempted to give that to you; but well? Dan Brown is the Big Mac of literary fare: accessible, profitable, definitely not a taste worth acquiring, and very bad for you if regularly consumed.
