Basically, there are magic-users and magic-creatures in the world, unknown to the vast majority of normal humans. The take part in a great battle between the Light and the Darkness. There are also other planes of existence, called the "Gloom" or the "Twilight". Big battle in the long-forgotten past where a Treaty was signed by the forces of Light and Darkness to halt the destruction that was being dealt to both sides.

After reading it, I was wondering if anyone read it in the original Russian and could point out differences between the Russian and American versions.

Also, please post spoilers from Final Watch. Anything from interesting conversation snippets to "so and so dies!".

the movie wasn't bad actually, though lacked much from the book.
