The Redemption of Althalus

Just finished reading this book, and I loved it. It's a welcome change having a fantasy novel that isn't entirely gloom and doom. Are the rest of Edding's works like this, or was it just a one-off?

Edding himself has admitted that he writes fantasy to a formula, so yes, you'll see some very strong parallels in every series that he writes, since characters usually conform to 'types' instead of having actual personalities. That being said, I don't think Althalus is anywhere near the best of his work.

I think the best series that he wrote would probably have to be the Elenium and the Tamuli. Old and bitter protagonist for the win.
