I have read,

The Sorrows of Young Werther (Goethe)
Madame Bovary (Flaubert)
Anna Karenina (Tolstoy)
A Perfect Day for Bananafish (Salinger)
The Picture of Dorian Gray (Wilde)
Burmese Days (Orwell)

I recommend Werther above all; I have never read as accurate and genuine a description of a struggle as it. Please recommend others.
