Sorry guys, I've been extremely busy with school related projects for a while. We'll pass a pretty big review next Tuesday but until then I don't know how much time I'll have free.

Don't feel too much pressure. I've been away from home all week on business, and I won't be back until the weekend.
thanks for all the hard work, don't rush it. something delayed is good eventually. something rushed is bad for ever.

Keep up the good work! Whatever you do don't let anyone rush you, take your time, a rushed project never ends well. Projects that are rushed because people keep asking for it usually makes people quit the project because they can't put all the energy and time into it at once etc. not to mention all the mistakes that will come out because of fatigue. Just take your time and continue with the project as you see fit, productivity increases a lot more when you want to do something :P Thanks for the hard work!

Any luck fixing the hook so far?

Sorry to take so long, I addressed some bugs.
More specifically, I addressed the bugs that skipped some blocks of text. There should also be a performance increase on slower computers.
Another thing I've discovered is that using a start menu shortcut of the game does not work for me when using the current ATCode. You need to run the executable from the Age folder directly. I don't know why this happens, but just a heads up.
This should work out most of the bugs on the hooking extension. I'll focus my efforts onto the write tool and figure out why it skips some lines.
Please keep reporting bugs, I'll try to address them whenever I have time.
Can EwriteTool be used to ctrl text dump other rUGP VNs? Seems like a useful means of script extraction for TDA and other chronicles. I tried a quick test using MLA, but managed to only record player choices in dump.txt

I never tried other games. Is this the case using the proper ATCode? If there's someone who needs it I can certainly take a look at it but not for a while.

Haven't tried them all, just casually experimenting. no TL crew lined up, just figured a pre-transcribed collection of scripts might expidite the start and completion of other projects. wouldn't want to distract you from AF though. will update if I make any meaningful progress though.

I'm currently working on simple translator plugin for AralTrans which supports gettext file format (.mo). Most of the work is done I just need to make tool to convert old format to the new one. Translating stuff is much easier with Poedit and you don't have to worry about encoding.
I can upload plugin sources after I'm finished if you guys are interested.
oddly enough, when I played through TDA00 (K->skip previously read text), I didn't use any ATCode, I just ran it as cached. I believe I have a full script, though it occasionally spouts "C:\age\マブラヴオルタネイティヴクロニクルズ 01\rugp.exe" within the transcription at weird intervals... Am I doing it wrong?

Sounds like an issue from using the cached mode. I believe that cached mode extracts text from a different part of memory and might be intercepting the source of the text whenever it reloads it. If there is an ATCode for TDA00, you might want to try that. This is all speculation though, as I've never investigated the source code of that mode fully.

Why not just learn Japanese, this shit is too much of a hassle to be worth it

It exists, and I tried it, but I do t know enough about araltrans and korean to tell whether or not im implementing it correctly, so im just flying blind trying every permutation of options and input I can find and seeing what results of it. I'll figure it out, and dont want to take any of your time away from AF; just wanted to say thanks and show that it works for other muv luv community projects.
(It outputs untranslated lines into untranslated.pot file in ML directory)

Great implementation idea, you beat me to it as I was working on it.
I just finished a version that merged the translator and writer together. If a line is not in the database, it will be written to missing.txt so please make put in the MLAF directory or the game will crash on a missing line.
This includes a majority of all the bug fixes, as I believe that a majority of the bugs came from the writing tool. I've revamped the write tool and should now handle all cases without error. This tool also avoids writing redundant text so there will only be once copy of a line in the text file.
I believe this will resolve all the current issues.
Had to do complete rewrite of the code, everything should be perfect now - it doesn't need any AT filters now. Also compiled with vs2012_xp toolset so now it should work with Windows XP too.
Also, if anyone had problem with finding right ATCode for patched game (AFU version) here it is:
HOOK(Vm60.dll!0x0001421E,TRANS([ESP+0x28],PTRCHEAT),RETNPOS(COPY))

Thanks for that code.
As pointed out on /a/ in Jutsuki Sen's thread, the 1.10 patch reworks the SFX in a few scenes for more comedic effect and dynamic use of rUGP. And the font also looks ten times better for some reason.
So even if the SFX doesn't matter to some people, perhaps for the font alone, the translation patch should be swapped to include 1.10 files and the 1.10 ATCode? http://holyseal.net/cgi-bin/mlistview.cgi?prdcode=6791

Also perhaps put a note telling people not to hit YES when the game asks to enter safe mode, and a note telling them how to get out of safe mode if they're dumb enough to do it.

Oh, but using patch 1.10 with the relevant AT code causes a crash after this line.
――向こうに『神の視点』はもうない!<
E――They shouldn’t have any “trump cards” left!
In the 1.10 version it's a forced sequence where control of text progression is taken away from you.
Or should be, but when using Araltrans and the plugin, an arrow is provided at this line where there shouldn't be one.
And clicking on it to go to the next line causes a crash.
And the text doesn't advance on its own like it's supposed to.
Bwoop. That puts a damper on things.

The only workaround I can think of is to close araltrans, get past that bit, make a save, then hook araltrans again and continue.

seems like the plugin doesn't play nice with the total eclipse portion, it dumps the first two lines to missing.txt and then crashes.
