About japanese schools and anime

When I was kid, in my geography lessons about japan, the first thing we learned about japanese schools was that every morning japanese kids do physical exercise before lessons and they do very often exercise for how to survive an earthquake, with helmets and everything.

Why you never see that n anime?..

when i was in elementry school we had a racist class about Japanese people. "they're all short, they have no sense of humor, they're extremely intelligent". I'm surprised they didn't tell us they all know Karate.
