Look up Hellsing Ultimate, Full Metal Panic, and Cromartie High School. My personal fav is Gundam, but that drags on for 30 years. Seriously, it's been on the air for 30 years, so you might take a while to get caught up on that. Avoid FMA, Naruto, Bleach, Furuba, and Death Note like the plague because they are about as n00bish as you can get. Hellsing Ultimate is true to the manga so it's about 5,000,000 times better than the original TV series.
