Sorreh 'bout the inconvenience... Ohh, one day there shall be a revolution and the AMV directors of youtube shall win... but alas, it isn't today.
Attention, Youtubers. This video used to be an AMV to [Artist name]'s great song [Song name], Alas, no more, as the copyright police are at it again. What they fail to understand, however, is that AMV's benefit both the anime industry, and the music industry. Countless people have become fans of animes due to AMV's, aswell as bought albums because of them. One little fanmade tribute can do alot. Some bands are pompous, and don't like any use of their music, but many support their fans, and appreciate the creativity that they are capable of. I doubt any band out there has declared that their music cannot be used for AMV's. It's nothing but a load of bull from the big record companies. Well here's some news for you, people.
For anime, an AMV is no different then a preview. They can't watch a full episode of anime from one little AMV, they have to go find the series and watch it all. Sure, some people may choose to pirate it, but the people who'd do that would have pirated it anyway, even if they had seen a trailer for it on TV. Let it be known that I own every [Anime name] DVD, and have not harmed the anime industry to do my work.
As for albums, come now, so you can listen to a full song? yeah? it's not like you can download it off of youtube, so how is watching an AMV anything like pirating? It's not.
When most people ask me "Can you send me the song?" I tell them to shove off, go buy the album, or get the song on itunes, I'm not sending my file over to them.
AMV's do not harm anyone, they help everyone... and make for damn good entertainment too.
