What are your favorite and least favorite anime and/or manga?

Hands down, my favorite anime would be Nanoha Classic. A's was awesome as well and StrikerS was at least adequate but Nanoha made me look at magical girls in a way I never had before.
My least favorite would be FLCL. Granted I haven't seen all of it, but what I have seen is just plain 'WTF?' moreso than even Evangelion.

Well, my favorite is actually FLCL, my least is Blood the last vampire.

Yep. Couldn't stand it. 'Course, I have some weird tastes in anime for a guy my age; my favorite anime prior to Nanoha was Sailor Moon, and I absolutely despise Dragonball Z. Would it have killed them to put something resembling a plot somewhere in between all the screaming aliens and big explosions?
That's part of what I love about Nanoha; the characters are pretty darn uber but the series balances the intense fight sequences with equally moving characters you can't help but love.
Oh, and a little message for all you "Goku pwns teh universe!!!" folks; go digging around for a copy of the Sailor Moon Stars manga, then come back and tell me how your precious Saiyans stack up against the power of Eternal Sailor Moon. I think you'll be greatly disappointed.
*Cue my super evil mad scientist laugh as I disappear in a swirl of flower petals and pages from Nanoha doujins*

Well obviously Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha is a good place to start if you're looking for something with DBZ-style action and a seriously good storyline to go with it.
I've also heard good things about Fate/Stay Night and Shakugan no Shana. .hack//Roots is a good choice if you liked SIGN. If you haven't already seen Gundam SEED and Gundam SEED Destiny, I'd recommend those as well

On second thought, don't watch that second one; it completely spoils Nanoha A's, the sequel series.

Favorite anime would have to be Cowboy Bebop. No matter how many times I see it, it just never get's old. Also: Muzak.
Least favorite would have to be.... Inu-Yasha.
I dont think I need to justify that.

Little magical girl anime?
Dude, that's even gay in otaku-land!
Favorite: Ghost in the Shell
Least: cardcaptor sakura
Before Fate torture scene: Fuck I'm watching a girl's show.
After Fate torture scene: Fuck yes I'm watching a girl's show!

I disagree. Sailor Moon has a lot of bad points but I still love the characters. A lot of magical girl shows sell themselves on their cutesyness (Princess Tutu and Wedding Peach for instance); Nanoha sells itself with its' high-intensity magic-based combat, mature themes and characters you can't help but love once you get to know them.

I probably would have dismissed it myself if I hadn't seen that first AMV I posted back in 10 beforehand. I saw action better than what Bleach and Naruto were giving me, I wanted more, and the storyline did the rest.
The moment you realize how fucked up Fate's "family life" is, you're hooked. You want to see how this story ends, and by the time it does, you're a fanatic ready for Nanoha A's and Nanoha StrikerS, where the action only gets more intense.

The fact that the artists keep dropping hints that Nanoha and Fate are a couple during A's and StrikerS doesn't hurt either. XD
So no, it's not a "little magical girl" anime; it's actually specifically aimed at an older male audience. You think a show where one of the protagonists gets beaten and tortured by her own mother would be marketed to 12 year olds? This is serious stuff.
