also I dont want to be offensive but im pushing to change the fanbase. I really dislike it when people use japanese words in english sentances. I think if you want to speak japanese you should get a textbook and pay more attention your to anime. otherwise people see you as a weeaboo.
I think there are 2 seperate groups of people who watch anime now.
1.watches anime occasionally but often obsesses over japanese things such as retarded gadgets and candy. often calling other themselfs otaku although they dont know the meaningof the word.they hop on the bandwaggon by acting as if anime such as naruto and inuyasha are the best .they also use random japanese words like kawaii and desu inapropriately, with bad pronounciation and most importantly in the middle of an english sentance(if the word has a simple english definition it should be used). most american fans of anime are in this catagory.these people are seen as stupid and wapanese by others.
2.anime fans who dedicate themself to anime manga and other japanese animation related things.tend to not call themself otaku but use it in the appropriate offensive manner but seem to prefer to call themselvs nerd or basement dweller in a teasing manner.they will eat japanese candy but dont see why people like it soo much.they have honest conversations about anime that are full of passion and demonstrate understanding of the material. are seeen by others as simple nerds and not retarded wapanese.
