Need a little info.

I hope this isn't to much to ask for but a long time ago I remember seeing an anime shown on Sci-Fi one night about a train and have discovered it was called Galaxy Express 999.  I know this movie links to more series by the same author and was hoping that you could maby post a list of the order these fall in such as a timeline with the anime names.
