This has probably been done but I do not see it on the main board so whatever.
What is your favorite anime(s).
And why, exactly?
What makes it so appealing?

So true - and I'm not even sure if I liked H&C2 more or less than 1, says a lot about the quality.
Also, the mix of funny/sad scenes is unbelievable, I cried like a little girl only to laugh my ass off in the very next scene (like, 3 seconds later). Nothing EVER did that to me before.
Ninjas, martial arts, loads of ass kicking and good storyline. Also the presence of morals and beliefs. Comrades, friends, goals, etc.
Naruto vs TenTen pros/cons
Naruto = anime is still running
TenTen = more mature theme, and hot character models

Now and Then, Here and There: Has quite possibly the bravest protaganist I've ever seen. The kid gets beaten, sees atrocities, etc., but he never gives up the naivete he had back home. And the world setting has this destined factor to it. The world needed its innocence back, and the kid gave his innocence to protect that world.
Rahxephon: A lot of people give this series a lot of criticism. They dismiss it as a Eva-ripoff and nothing else. But carefully watching the TV series and movie, astute viewers would note that Rahxephon is more of a commentary about Eva-esque anime and unlike Eva, I actually enjoyed this anime. The world design was interesting and raised some good questions about the idea of how one's perception of the world can be a dangerous thing.
Brave Fighter of Legend Da Garn: Years before Gaogaigar showed us that hot-bloodedness can overcome all obstacles, Da Garn showed a rational look of yuusha anime. VERY worth watching. The ending is special too.
Battle Programmer Shirase: Just plain hilarious.
