Deathnote KICKS ASS!

Don't you think its the greatest manga ever, the art work is gorgeous the plot is very deep and full of twists and even thought the main character is a total psychopath with a god complex you can't help but love him.

If you had your own fully functional Deathnote how would you use it, would you even have the guts to, would you use it for personal gain or to help mankind?

If I had a Deathnote, first thing I'd do is kill a bunch of people I don't like (with suicide instead of the default heart attack, cause then if the cops get suspicious what can they do its obvious they all died by their own hand, case closed) so the lifespan of the deathgod haunting me would increase. Then I would try and gain the deathgod's favor, followed by making the eye trade (half my lifespan for the ability to know anyone's name just by looking at them). Afterwards I'd try and get the deathgod to extend my life somehow by tricking it to kill someone who's death would cause my lifespan to increase, which would cause the deathgod itself to die and it's lifespan (which after all the killing I did should be huge) added to my own.

So then I'd have the ability to know the names of everyone I see, the ability to kill and control those people on a whim, plus the amount life I payed to the deathgod for the eyes in the first place and the huge amount of life I stockpiled into the deathgod before it died and I wouldn't have to worry about going to heaven or hell (since deathnote users cannot go to either). I would be pretty much a god among you filthy mortals (hmmm...guess I'm a little evil psycho too XD).

Well i havent really read the manga but the anime is damn good, im thinking of getting into the manga myself.

I would use it to kill the president and every politition that pisses me off. Like when they cancel CSI or some of my other favorite shows to do some stupid address about how they're close to getting Osama Bin laden or the threat level has gone from Green to Fuchsia or some other gayass color that doesn't mean bullshit.

The as a hobbie I'd sit and watch every inaugeration ceremony on TV and kill off every future president before they have a chance to screw the country worse than it already is.

I would use it to kill all the posters in this thread, including myself for wasting time here.

I would use it to control people for my own selfish goals.

Like control Bill Gates to put his entire fortune into a swiss backaccount in my name and then mail all information about it to me and the erase all evidence before finally having him commit suicide, I like Suo's idea of useing suicide instead of heartattacks to keep the cops off my back.

Then I'd probably kill George Bush on live TV just to watch the media and government officials run around like the tiny little ants they are.

I'd kill off Jesse Jackson for the hell of it, Al Sharpton too.

You could pretty much do anything with a deathnote, any sick twisted desire you have it will give you.

I would honestly sell my soul (If I havn't accidentally sold it for something by now) for a deathnote.

do try to analyze the plot, it's only as 'deep' as your average manga. while it's a fun read thanks to an interesting premise and the writer's ability to keep the pace going thus making things interesting enough to have me flipping pages, let's face it, it's chokefull of nonsensical bullshit.

personally i'd forgive this as it's common in entertainment media but it's the many fans who claims it as "very deep" and having unpredictable plot twists, basically toting it as the closest thing to "an intelligent man's manga" that makes annoys the shit out of me. great premise and good pace, above average artstyle, but sadly a weak plot and shallow characters not to mention having to read countless nonsensical reasoning and "intelligent thoughts" made by supposed geniuses. 7 out of 10.

I have three plans (four, technically, but one falls in with anothers).

1. Rid the world of Deathnote users before they could really do much harm.

(1.a) Kill Light. Stupid egotisitcal bastard.

2. Do what Light does- but in a less obvious fashion. I would hopefully be able to prevent the police from ever finding out so much about a deathnote or how the criminals are dying and who's killing them. If I can't do that, then I certainly don't deserve to be God.

3. Rid the world of homophobes. Similar to the ridding the world of criminals- but in a different sense. Oh, yes, and kill George Bush.
