If it is not funny enough, our main unorthodox hero Naruto is con in doing ecology and animal's penis research in some turtle's island, and his "best" friends Gaara didn't trust him in fighting along the war although he himself was unreliable in fight by began beaten by Naruto and then later captured by Deidara and despite his failure are appointed as an unorthodox supreme commander of the whole division. Naruto must be the only special "ninja" first in history to storm hastefully into an battle so casually without men or other forces in "war" and engaged in the riot against other tailed beasts, Obito and Madara.
The only thing Kishimoto learned to do better than anything else was to present the image of "The Boy You Turn To When Things Get Tough" on Naruto (Who can forget the Naruto manga's Cover with his new SO6P mode outlook with an message "Can this boy save the world"). Kishi was so good at it that he conned the audience into thinking that Naruto was the most remarkable ninja in "his" ninja's universe, despite having his ass saved by Hinata ,Killer Bee, Dodai,Itachi, Kakashi and Guy duo by playing hard to get with his super saiyan power-up from sage frog and not to forget the same old fox. He also conned the audience with his twist and turn in the plot that Naruto could morph into Super Sentai and might one day be persuaded to lead a moribund ninja troop back to victory and "saved"the world !!!
The problem was that Naruto hadn't led his clone army to win anything even approximating a victory on the Zetsu army or just get past Raikage. In fact even in real life, none of any hero have led war to any victory since men like Patton, stormed in decisively in the beaches of North Africa and southern France with blood in their eyes and military murder on their minds.
These heroes, in my practical humble opinion, were nearly psychotic in their drive to kill enemy soldiers and subjugate enemy nations for the sake of peace. Thankfully, we will probably never have cause to go back to those blood-soaked days. But we still shouldn't allow the current potboiler establishment like Naruto to give us one generation after another of imitation hero who pretend to believe that the only greatness you can have is build through borrow power and special privilege like if you study under this great teacher or guru, you will be better than the rest, and bullshit like empty friendship are more important than the innocent live of humanity.
The heroes who won World War II were the kind of men who, as it was said at the time, chewed nails for breakfast, spit tacks at lunch and picked their teeth with their pistol barrels.If it is Naruto, the only logical explanation that an kid didn't have to chew nails and spit tacks was because Kishi didn't want him to, whatever bullshit Naruto do he is still an hero that all.Naruto only greatest accomplishment was merely personal : transformed himself from an rascal into rock star who cannot rock ninja. The problem was that Naruto got so lost among his hangers-on and handlers and roadies and groupies that he finally had his head turned by a Uchiha rival and best "friend" call Sasuke just because he is the one and only one who believe he has an unique bond with him !
It only Nartuards had known how quickly and hard Kishi would have fell over such a petty, ignominious idea, they would have saved precious time earlier for something usefully and sent the doonesbury manga into toilet bowl !

The Itachi death is what caused my room mates to stop reading the manga for a while, but when Pain entered the picture, they became interested again. It seemed that Kishi had started to write great stories again. It seemed that Kishi had gotten his head on straight. But like a dog returning to it's vommit, Kishi returned to his bogus storylines. A little power-up for Sasuke here, a little stupid plot twist there, and now the inevitable death of Neji Hyuga. My room mates were shocked out of their witts. But of course, it wasn't shocking for me. When you read manga that is written by someone who's ideas were taken straight from the cutting room floor of DBZ, its totally logical.
