Unless the woman either has an open enough mind that she doesn't care if her boyfriend has a nerdy hobby (which doesn't take much open-mindedness) or enjoys anime herself. (contrary to popular belief, not all female nerds are shit-ugly... I've seen some fairly cute girls in the anime isle at Best Buy before)

The real issue comes if you're a pasty, scrawny, pizza-faced, cosplaying, broken Japanese-speaking loser that can't help carry a coherant conversation about anything but anime under any circumstances. Then you probably need to lay off the nerdy hobbies for a bit.
