It seems like you are making two generalizations in one post.
The first one (that I noticed anyways) seems to be that you think people who watch anime aren't any different from the crossdressing cosplayers.
In this case, let's not fool ourselves here. Were talking about an entirely different level of fandom. It's the difference between the guy who chooses to watch Star Trek at dinner and the guy who dresses up as Spock or whoever and goes to the Trekkie conventions. You simply cannot compare the level of fandom. I know jocks who will watch Star Trek instead of a football game.
Now the other generalization seems to be that you think there is nothing wrong with an overweight, homosexual, crossdressing japanophile.
This is my error. I shouldn't judge a persons choice of lifestyle. Really, I don't give a fuck what you do as long as it doesn't have anything to do with me. I don't care if you watch an episode of anime or two each day but if you wanna crossdress and go to a con, keep me out of it.
