1. FAGGOT sees his first anime on TV, likes it.
2. FAGGOT learns how to download anime on the internet.
3. Unfortunately, FAGGOT then proceeds to download and watch Shounen & Moe series ONLY.
4. Other anime fans and conoisseurs suggest FAGGOT to watch something other than Shounen & Moe series for a change. Anime with plot, script or a story to tell; but alas, FAGGOT doesn't listen, and continues to watch Shounen & Moe ONLY.
5. After a couple of years, our FAGGOT "grows up" and "gets bored of anime".
When asked why, FAGGOT tells us it's because he's "a former anime fan, has seen it all and that he has come to the conclusion that animu is for kids (Shounen) or for otaku losers (Moe)".

My point is: watch what you want.
But expect to be called stupid faggot if you think that anime is moe and shounen only. Dramathermore, expect to be called a stupid cocksucker if you think anime is stupid and you don't like anime anymore _because_ "it's only kids' stuff and fanservice" _while_ you ignored the advice to diversify, to try other anime with more mature, or unusual themes.

I see so many idiots calling themselves "former anime fans" who bash anime because it's supposedly "kids' stuff and fanservice only" while they were the morons who ignored non-shounen/moe anime suggestions back when they had a general interest, and now think they've seen it all.
