it's also going to be aired on AS. hikaru no go is on cable, uncut and subbed. toriyama stuff that isn't dbz won't sell.

I remember watching Dr. Slump in Cuba. I guess the voice acting is decent in terms of how the voices sound since my spanish is very limited.
As for which series, I dunno. They took some pretty random ones like tokyo mew mew and kinnikuman. Another Shonen Jump series sounds about right though. My best guess is probably Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo but it might be too weird for american audiences.

Basically yes, but original versions aren't really what I'd call dumbed down. Just because it's children's show it doesn't mean it can't be good. There was plenty of very good US made kid's shows like Gargoyles in early 90s. I wonder why today's trend seem to be dumbing down everything to crap.

Japanese and American ADULTS react to violence, sex and nudity. Japanese have much healthy views of violence, sex and nudity. They aren't viewed as taboos or anything

Stuff that they shown on adult swim is mostly for teens like Cowboy Bebop and GITS SAC, but some of it is kid's anime too like the FMA which is targeted for school age boys. FMA is pretty bad example though as it really strecths boundaries of shounen(young boy's) anime. While shounen elements are all in it has even shoujo elements(tradegy and drama) and explores darker themes typically seen only in shounen intended for teens and seinen. Good examples of really typical average shounen anime are DBZ and Naruto. Also sexual themes and "non-righteous"(meaning they will kill only really bad baddies if they have no choice) violence by main characters are typically taboo in shounen anime with exception of shounen intended for teens ofcourse.
