Haruhi is the most likable character I've seen: she's cute, smart, amusing, amazing, funny, and annoying (which I find desirable in a woman if she's smart).
Kyon thinks just like I do. The way he reasons is just like mine. Plus, he faces the sames problems I do: everything seems boring to him. Probably the series wouldn't have changed substantially if I were in Kyon's place (of course, he's 2D and I'm 3D, never mind that). He's one of the reasons I love the show that much.
Mikuru is way too cliché for me, but she's OK. For the pervs, who we know, abound in the fandom. However, she's a time traveler, which makes the cliché just a little bit less cliché.
Nagato... what can I say about the GREAT NAGATO-SAMA. She's awesome, in every single way. I love when she explains shit, goddamnit. Aaaand, she looks childish, something that turns me on a lot.
The plot is awesome: a bored guy, who meets a girl that goes: "I don't wanna talk to you, unless you are an ESPer, a time traveler or an alien." I mean...shit. I want to marry you, Haruhi.
I guess what I like most is how the anime portrays your average day-by-day routine in your life, but still manages to show you some crazy weird-ass sci-fi.

I don't think anime The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is that good. It is boring period. Be true guys don't pretend that you like this anime just because its popular. Can someone explain why it is fun to watch?
for wat i saw.... each person have own fav anime. like someone like 2 watch action or fantasy or funny anime!! haruhi is really "weird" anime hwvr the writer want us experience the same as the character experiencing. that why... in season 2 we saw they repeated same story over n over... so that we also stuck in time with them.... somehow this anime is different with other anime. u cnt blame this anime juz bcoz it is boring....
as anime lover... u should watch every anime,not only naruto or blech or ddraymen,u should watch different kind of anime.. each anime have own strength and weakness.....

Hahahahahah! Haruhi is a bitch. This anime is one of the most overrated series. Haruhi suzumiya sucks and those enjoy suck too. Get some dignity and learn to diss Haruhi. I would be a murderer if I have met a girl like haruhi in real life hopefully my Absolute Terror field protects me from such stupidity.

Completely lame! The main character Haruhi is nothing but a cold, selfish, overly-judgemental, shallow, arrogant, ignorant and annoying. What is this teaching? Nothing at all, it just advocates everyone else to be like her. Okay, she is athletic and "cute", but so selfish and unbearable.

ask your friends about how good/bad an anime was in an extremely carefully worded and pre-thought out way that wont give you an answer that ruins it for you.

This is dry balls... Anime is crap, characters are shallow, plot is really crap, everything is crap. What the hell! Why does everyone like this anime... I see stuff posted like: "Haruhi is hot..." etc. What a lame excuse to like an anime just because one character or a couple of others are good looking. DRY BALLS!!!
