Final fantasy advent children has a black character in it, also eureka seven has a about 5 black characters in it, and there not indian ther black, also IGPX Liz a main character she's black, it use to be really rare to find a black character in anime, but lately you've been seeing it mor and more. Oh yeah Hack// has a main character who's black. So yeah there are alot of black anime characters/ and also fullmetal alchemist the girl with the baby who is in love with Ed/ she's dark skin

It's a new anime series that just came out here in America but has been out for quite a while down here in japan, it's called elemental gilade, a really cool badass black girl is shown quite frequently throughout the series. And also one peice, Usab a main character and he's black.

If Ib may interject, it has come to my attention that many characters in Anime appear black,as many appear caucasian or chinese. It is an abstract form,but some resimblances that are'nt as abstract as Mr.PoPo havecome up. Such as Gorobei from the anime Samurai 7. He is clearly by name a japanese man ,but his facial features appear African American.All those who have seen Samurai 7 known the art is well drawn in details given to the face. Gorobei's short hair, dark skin, thicker lips and even his English voice over give this impression. On a lighter note,my father upon seeing him compared the character to a resident of Memphis. My expaination for the rash of non-native characters in japanese cartoons is the integration of numerous sources to create an interesting and varied plot. The direct mention of African American Civil rights leaders in the anime,"Ghost in the Shell: Second GiG" should also be concentrated on. Peace

2 characters from bleach are black. One of them is a ninja ( i think)
I always thought of any darkskinned anime character *cough* Aisha Clanclan *cough* as black... ^^;;
But it's more or less obvious by the character designs. Most black anime characters, I've noticed, have, erm, "detailed" lips and usually sport an afro or something and are rather dark.
Anywho, I'll stop rambling now.

uh, well the naruto universe IS based on ancient Japanese culture with all the ninjas and samurai swords and all...so like tons of other anime that draws upon Japanese culture, all the characters are Japanese. Doesn't necessarily mean the mangaka is racist, probably just means that it never occurred to them to add in characters of different races.
And on an entirely different note, BLEACH's Tousen and Yoruichi are undeniably HAWT.
