So did it end up edited? I'd checked out vol 1 the other day, it seems pretty cool. I'm sure the first two things were neat, but this is the stuff I wanted to read when I heard "Jojo".
From what I hear, it escaped the editing. Hell, it has the original SFX art. That's pretty rare for Viz.

all the art is, for the first two books, intact. there's some pretty graphic shit in there so if they aren't cutting THAT i don't think you have anything to worry about.

they didn't. "yare yare daze" becomes "give me a break". when jotaro is pissed he'll say "give me a %$&$%& break." he'll occasionally toss some censored swear words around. I can see the logic behind this decision, but it's the hypocritical "kill as many people as you like, but don't say any bad words or it's 18+" kind of thinking that pressures publishers into moves like this. in a book where you see a man's face taken apart by a giant metal hook, we can't read the word "fuck". I blame society!

they already did. for abdul they're using the "avdol" romanization that was used in the fighting game. personally i think worrying about paula abdul over just the last name (though the character IS certainly named after her) is kind of silly. enya is enyaba. dio is still dio, though, obviously, and polnareff is still polnareff. the one i'm most interested in seeing is vanilla ice. the game renamed him "iced". we will probably see that again.

Hmmm...
"Give me a %*@' break" or "What a pain..."
What is the literal translation of the phrase?
