WTF, Love Hina is one of the best series ever. Well, the anime is not that good compared to the manga, I agree it's not the best of anime, but the series itself rocks.

Onizuka. He's just one bad dude with nothing else to back him other then his martial arts training and street smarts. Eikichi's incredably powerful and does a lot of crazy stuff but the stuff he does isn't completely over-the top like in some anime. Okay, well some of what he does is mindboggling (surviving the explosion) but still, it doesn't have me aback in disbelief screaming "THAT'S RETARDED".
